MITD Community Guidelines

NODES is a shared space for creators, builders, explorers, and organizations across the MITD ecosystem. These Community Guidelines describe how we expect members to treat one another. They work alongside the MITD Member Terms & Conditions; where the Terms govern the legal agreement, these Guidelines describe day-to-day conduct. These Guidelines are part of and incorporated into the Member Terms & Conditions. Violations may lead to warnings, content removal, loss of features, loss of earned status including lifetime membership, suspension, or removal, as described in the Terms and in Section 12 below.
1. Be Respectful
Treat other members with respect. Harassment, hate speech, threats, bullying, or targeted abuse toward any person or group has no place on MITD. Disagreement is fine; cruelty is not.
This applies to live and hosted experiences as it does anywhere else. Disrupting an event, a live session, a shared space, or another member's experience — whether by harassment, deliberate interference, or persistent disregard for hosts and other participants — is a violation of these Guidelines.
2. Keep It Authentic
Be who you say you are. Do not impersonate other people, organizations, or MITD staff, and do not use a display name, handle, or company identity designed to deceive. Company accounts must represent real organizations and provide accurate information.
3. Play Fair
Earn your progress honestly. Do not exploit, manipulate, or automate experience points, levels, achievements, referrals, codes, or any reward or unlock system. Operating multiple accounts to farm rewards, abuse referrals, or evade limits is not allowed.
Progression is earned through participation. Do not attempt to acquire experience points, unlocks, achievements, or membership status through payment, trade, shared accounts, or any arrangement outside the systems MITD provides.
4. Respect Privacy
Respect other members' privacy and their privacy settings. Do not share another member's private information without consent, and do not attempt to identify, track, or contact members who have chosen to keep their accounts private.
Where a member's name or content has been redacted or made private, do not attempt to re-identify them, republish what they have removed, or circumvent the systems that enforce their settings.
5. Keep Content Appropriate
Do not post or share content that is unlawful, infringing, sexually explicit, violent, deceptive, or otherwise harmful. Content you contribute should be yours to share and should not violate the rights of others.
6. Use Messaging and Connections Responsibly
Connections and messaging are for genuine interaction. Do not use them for spam, scams, unsolicited promotion, or harassment. Members may decline or remove connections at any time.
7. Protect the Platform
Do not attempt to access systems, accounts, or data you are not authorized to access, and do not probe, disrupt, or overload the services. If you discover a security issue, report it rather than exploit it.
8. Companies and Organizations
Company accounts are welcome but are held to the same conduct standards as individual members, plus the additional terms that apply to company accounts. Companies should be transparent about who they are and should not misuse member trust for deceptive or aggressive promotion.
9. Protect Your Own Account
Your account is your identity across MITD. Do not share your credentials, allow another person to act as you, or use another member's account. Activity that occurs under your account may be attributed to you.
10. Disruptive Behavior
Some behavior harms the platform or its members without fitting neatly into the categories above. Conduct that disrupts MITD systems or affects other members negatively is a violation of these Guidelines regardless of whether it is specifically listed. This includes:
- Sustained or repeated conduct that degrades the experience of other members, including in live and hosted spaces
- Deliberately interfering with events, sessions, shared experiences, or other members' content
- Coordinated behavior intended to target, exclude, overwhelm, or drive out another member
- Misusing reporting, connection, messaging, or moderation systems, including filing reports in bad faith
- Repeatedly returning to conduct you have already been warned about
- Placing strain on MITD systems, staff, or hosts through knowingly abusive use
Isolated mistakes are not what this section is for. Pattern, persistence, and effect on others are what we weigh.
11. Reporting
If you see behavior that violates these Guidelines, please report it through the tools provided on the platform. Reports help us keep MITD a positive space. We review reports and take action at our discretion, consistent with the Terms. Filing reports in bad faith, or to harass another member, is itself a violation.
12. Enforcement
We respond in proportion to the severity, pattern, and effect of the behavior. Depending on the circumstances, action may include:
- A warning
- Removal or restriction of specific content
- Loss of access to specific features, spaces, or events
- Loss of earned status or recognition, including lifetime membership
- Restriction of progression, rewards, or unlocks obtained through abuse
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent removal of the account
Serious conduct may result in immediate action at any level without a prior warning. Earned status does not exempt an account from enforcement: a member holding lifetime membership, high progression, or any other recognition is held to these Guidelines on the same terms as every other member, and may lose that status as described in the Member Terms & Conditions.
Enforcement decisions are made at our discretion and in accordance with the Member Terms & Conditions.
